SIRIM building a multi-billion Ringgit LED lighting industry

SIRIM hopes to turn Malaysia into a key international LED lighting production player by building the local industry and to realise this aim a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed with Avenion Greentech to collaborate in the R&D and commercialisation of LED lighting. Under the MoU SIRIM and Avenion Greentech will collaborate in the areas of R&D, product improvement, new product development, development of testing methods as well as a national industrial standard on LED lighting in a move towards spearheading the development of a LED cluster in Malaysia.
