Mr Gorjestani conducting the debriefing session with the Champions and Dr Anthos Yannakou (Principal and Executive Vice President, Operations of the CSIR South Africa)

A very successful meeting of Champions was held in Washington DC last week.

In addition to the formal meeting, a facilitated session was held to develop a ‘roadmap’ to clarify actions going forward and also to highlight roles and responsibilities. This will be published on the website soon.

Following the meeting a very interesting debriefing session was held with Mr Nicolas Gorjestani, Chief Knowledge and Learning Office, Africa Region of the World Bank. The debriefing process has been developed by the World Bank as a tool to capture learning from Bank projects and Mr Gorjestani has now extended this to associates of the Bank such as the GRA. The outcomes of this will also be made available once the processing is complete.

A very positive relationship is being built up with the World Bank and in fact the GRA have been asked to submit a proposal on indigenous knowledge with particular reference to the domain of health.
