TNO’s unique knowledge helps research into the ozone layer

TNO have been active in the field of space flight for many years and have a worldwide undisputed reputation in the field of optical instruments for use in space. TNO developed the initial spectrometer for the Global Ozone Monitoring Experiment (GOME) and provides the instrument on-board calibration system and is responsible for the instrument end-to-end calibration to GOME-2. The data generated plays a major role in monitoring and understanding changes in climate – precision instruments that provide scientists with a wealth of information.
