‘……..the subject matter that you are dealing with here is incredibly important’ was the message to delegates to the Forum from Dr Paul Wolfowitz, President of the World Bank. Dr Wolfowitz went on to urge the delegates to innovate and produce good ideas in the race to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
Dr Mashelkar, President of the GRA, delivered the keynote address which focused on the science and technology challenges in development and he was afforded a full 45 minutes in a very full programme. Dr Richard Adams of Battelle made an incisive contribution to the final roundtable discussion on the last day.
The GRA was very well represented by a senior team from several member organisations and enjoyed prominence as one of the partners to the Bank for the organisation of this event.
The Forum provided an excellent networking opportunity with the high level delegates from many parts of the world and representing decision-makers and thought-leaders from government agencies, donor agencies, academia and industry.
